Description
Spend an hour and walk through Helidon's past. See what used to be and what still is. Follow the famous Helidon Sandstone markers.
Discover the quaint charm of Helidon, a small village with big stories! Originally an agri-settlement, it's famous for top-notch resources—lush green pastures hide world-class sandstone and mineral water. Since the 1880s, Helidon's sandstone has graced landmarks like Brisbane’s City Hall and Parliament House, now an international sandstone benchmark.
Explore the town's rich history with this self-guided heritage walk which includes a trip to the beautifully crafted town clock, pictorial museum huts and the historic post office. For a unique shopping experience, swing by Pickers and Dealers Garage for collectibles, coffee, and cake. Don't miss the nearby dress shop with a fabulous range of clothing and accessories.
Pro tip: Visit in October for the picturesque flowering jacarandas!
Collect walk brochures from Lockyer Valley Visitor Information Centre or Soldiers Memorial Park (Next to the post office).
