Details

There will be fun for young and old this Australia Day at the Cahill Park Sports Complex in Gatton.

A number of games will kick off the festivities at 11am including tug of war, backyard cricket, thong toss, ball toss, haystack build, three-legged race, egg and spoon race and toad racing (games are subject to change).

Form your own team with mates or make new friends by joining another team.

There will also be plenty of prizes to be won throughout the day.

One highlight of the day will be the Ironman Challenge, where participants will go head-to-head to see who can drink a hot beer, eat a cold pie, eat a dry Weetbix and devour some spicy chicken wings (first person to finish all four will be awarded points for their team).

A traditional Aussie barbecue will also be available at $24 per adults (includes a beer) and $12 per child (includes a small drink and ice cream). On the menu will be sausages, steakettes, chicken nibbles, hamburgers, kebab skewers, a salad buffet and bread rolls.
